As a Highland Wedding Planner it is always exciting when a new wedding venue opens up here in the Highlands of Scotland. 

I was delighted when the team at Rothiemurchus, contacted me to tell me about their fantastic, new Tipi wedding venue. This splendid Tipi is now being offered as a Highland wedding reception venue that goes together with an intimate loch side ceremony.

Rothiemurchus Estate

Rothiemurchus is a Highland estate set in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park in Scotland. The estate offers the visitor a 13th century castle, spectacular woodlands and lochs, an abundance of wildlife and many outdoor activities. 

With the addition of their new wedding Tipi venue, Rothiemurchus has become the perfect hideaway for couples looking to truly escape somewhere stunning for their dream wedding. A place set in peace and tranquillity with the most breath-taking scenery.

Wedding Ceremony Venues

Couples who book the wedding Tipi have the choice of 3 superb outdoor locations to have their ceremony.

  • Loch an Eilein (Up to 30 people)
  • Lochan Mor (Up to 30 people)
  • On the farm with the Hairy Coos!  (Up to 50 people)

The Wedding Tipi

After the intimate ceremony it is back to the Tipi for the celebrations to begin.  Rustic tables and benches are provided for up to 50 people.  A firepit in the middle of the Tipi and another outside, means that cold weather is never a problem.  Twinkling fairy lights finish off the fairytale look.

Views from the Tipi are magical, looking out over the mighty Cairngorms.  A photographers dream and the perfect backdrop for a rustic wedding vibe that guests will never forget.

The estate also has a collection of luxurious self-catering properties. Couples can book one for their perfect wedding night hideaway, or guests can book them to stay close by.

Activities

However, what I love most about this Highland wedding Tipi venue is the potential to create a totally unique wedding experience, combining any number of activities available on the estate. Hire bikes and cycle to Lochan Mor for your ceremony. Take your guests on a 4WD tour before your wedding or the day after.  Host a mini Highland Games on the lawn outside the Tipi to put your friends and family to the test. There is so much on offer to make a wedding here completely individual to each couple, and this makes my work here so exciting.

Tipi Wedding Planning

I will be working closely with each couple, starting from the day they book the Tipi, right through to the end of the evening when their last guest disappears into the night.

As a Scottish Wedding Planner my number one priority is to ensure couples have their dream wedding here in the Highlands. I work on the couple’s behalf, using my extensive knowledge of the area and wedding suppliers to see that each couple gets nothing but the best. 

Planning a destination wedding from a distance can be extremely stressful and put a lot of couples off booking what would otherwise, be their perfect wedding venue.  My role takes away this stress, making it easy and fun for couples, no matter where they live.

This new Highland wedding offering is a gemstone within the Cairngorms National Park, creating a dream destination wedding venue for those people wanting something special, magical and hidden away from the rest of the world.

Getting There

The nearest hub is Aviemore which has a train station serving London daily.  Inverness is the nearest airport, just 50 minutes away and connected by train to Aviemore too.  There is also a multitude of accommodation available in the surrounding area making the Cairngorms an easy place to visit.
