About Lindsay – Scottish Wedding Planner

Wedding planning brings me so much joy. It allows me to combine my love of people and their stories (because what is a wedding, if not the ultimate expression of a love story told in dozens of gorgeous little details?), with my passion for spreadsheets and organisation.

Yes, I did just use the words ‘passion’ and ‘spreadsheets’ in the same sentence, don’t laugh! There is nothing quite like being able to see everything falling beautifully into place, knowing that all of life’s plates are being kept spinning and that every detail is under control – it’s oddly empowering. Add in the incredible landscapes and stunning scenery of the Scottish Highlands and The Cairngorms where I’ve made my home and lost my heart, and you’ve got the recipe for Wide Sky Weddings!

behind the scenes

I would describe myself as a

fearless romantic.

I’ve got a healthy appetite for thrill seeking (I’ve done skydives and bungee jumps, and as soon as winter brings snow to the local slopes you’ll find me on my skis), and I tend to collect memories and experiences rather than things. My career started in London, where I worked in media, but whenever I could I travelled all over the world.

I spent time in Hawaii studying communication with dolphins, and then went to New Zealand to assist on a dolphin research project.

The more I learned about these amazing animals, the more fascinated I became.

When I read about a dolphin project on the tiny promontory of Spey Bay, I packed up my life in London and left everything I knew behind in favour of a wilder life in a remote part of Scotland. It was a huge gamble, but it proved to be life changing for me, not least when I met a local wildlife tour guide on the little hill where we surveyed the dolphins. We shared his telescope scanning the waves for sightings of them… and a few years later we were back on that same hill at sunset as he asked me to be his wife!

The landscapes here have truly become a part of our lives, and I can’t wait to help you discover your own little corner of the Cairngorms, and have it weave its way into your love story on your wedding day.
